Universities in Haryana

Haryana is one of the states in North India forming the northern, southern and western borders of Delhi. The state has a network of universities and institutions for higher education in a number of specialized disciplines. In many of the universities, the admission is through competitive exams The state government has made every effort to make education available to every section of society. At present, there are a number of recognized universities in Haryana that offer a wide range of specialized programs. Some institutes in Haryana have been given the status of deemed university under the University Grants Commission (UGG) Act.

The Universities in Haryana offer courses in all the major disciplines of study such as humanities, science and commerce. At the Kurukshetra university, the admission to engineering courses is through competitive exams. The Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University is involved in education and research related to agriculture. Another specialized deemed university in Haryana is the National Dairy Research Institute in Karnal. The admission is through competitive exams.
